Delta Dental Coverage Availability & Fees
There are currently three different types of Delta Dental benefits plans, including:
- Delta Dental PPOSM
- Delta Dental Premier®
- DeltaCare®USA (Delta’s DHMO-type closed network plan)
With Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier, you can see any licensed dentist you’d like. However, you’ll probably save money if you select a dentist who is in-network. With DeltaCare USA, your plan requires you to select a primary care dentist from their network.
The exact coverage you receive from your Delta Dental insurance depends on your specific plan, the dentist you choose, and the treatment you receive. Under most Delta Dental PPO and Premier plans, a pre-specified percentage of the cost of care will be paid by your plan. The remaining amount you’ll owe will depend on our fees. This means your costs may be much lower when you visit our dental office. Because we’re proudly in-network with Delta Dental, your plan will automatically cover more of the cost of your care.
With Delta Dental, some plans may use a table of allowances that specify a dollar amount paid for each procedure. Following this table, you would pay the difference between your allowance and our fee.
For prepaid plans such as DeltaCare USA, you’ll have a set copay for each service, so you can easily calculate how much you’ll owe for treatment in advance.
Be aware that most Delta Dental insurance plans operate within a specific benefit period which is typically a year, although not always from January through December. Some yearly maximums and limits can be applied to each member of your family.
