General Dentist Serving North Attleboro, MA
Meet Dr. Janice Cen, DMD

Dr. Janice Cen brings five years of hands-on clinical experience, a genuine passion for patient comfort, and an impressive breadth of skill to every appointment she has. A Boston University-trained dentist with a drive to master the most complex procedures her field has to offer, Dr. Cen has spent her early career doing exactly that — seeking out the cases, mentors, and advanced training that most dentists wait years to pursue. From restorative dentistry and root canal treatment to clear aligner therapy and surgical implant placement, she is equipped to handle a wide range of dental needs with confidence and care. Attleboro Dental Group is thrilled to welcome her energy, skill, and warmth to our team!
Why I Became a Dentist
Dr. Cen was nineteen years old when she knew healthcare was her path. She wanted to help people in a meaningful, tangible way — and she wanted to do it with her hands. But it wasn't until she discovered dentistry that everything clicked.
What drew her in was the combination of things dentistry uniquely offers: the ability to relieve someone's pain, restore their confidence, and change the way they feel about their own smile — often in a single visit. As she puts it, being equipped to get patients out of pain and help them feel good about their smile gives her so much joy. She couldn't imagine doing anything else.
That sense of purpose has shaped every decision she's made since — from the mentor she sought out after dental school to the surgical training she traveled internationally to complete.
My Educational Background
Dr. Cen completed both her undergraduate education and her dental training at Boston University, earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from BU's Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2021. Goldman is consistently recognized as one of the top dental programs in the country, and Dr. Cen graduated with both the clinical foundation and the hunger to keep learning.
Right out of dental school, she made a deliberate choice — rather than ease into practice, she sought out a mentor in Rhode Island who would push her. She relocated specifically for the opportunity to work on complex, real-world cases and to build the kind of confidence that only comes from experience. That time proved transformative. Under strong mentorship, she gained deep hands-on proficiency in restorative dentistry, root canal treatment, clear aligner therapy, and surgical implant placement.
In 2023, she took her training a step further by traveling to Guadalajara, Mexico to complete an intensive live surgical implant course — placing ten implants over three days under the direct guidance of experienced oral surgeons. It was, in her words, a life-changing experience, and one that cemented her ability to handle any dental situation that comes her way.
My Life Outside of the Dental Office
When she's not in the office, Dr. Cen is someone who genuinely loves being active and connected. She plays volleyball one to two times a week with a tight-knit community of friends in the Boston area — a group she describes as a wonderful mix of new and old friendships built around a shared love of the game.
She's also an avid traveler who has made exploring the world a real priority, getting away two to four times a year whenever she can. Just in the past year alone, she's visited the Dominican Republic, Montreal, and Italy — and Hawaii is next on the list.
One thing that surprises most people: if Dr. Cen could have a second career, she'd be a food critic. She has a genuine love for discovering great food, which makes her the perfect person to ask for a restaurant recommendation before or after your appointment.
